Handbuilt sculpture penguins with recycled stoneware clay.
Glazed white and grey and raku-fired. The raku technique is traditionally used in Japan where the pottery piece is removed from the hot kiln and allowed to cool in the open. The white glaze on the chicks' bellies are beautifully "crackled" and it's a technique that does not guarantee the results that you want.
